ALL FIRED UP!

All Fired Up! A participatory, community-engaged project, by artist Freya Gabie.

Commissioned by Historic England, the project worked with diverse communities in Poole and Stoke on Trent; focusing on the deep connection to the historic ceramic industries of both places, and how this has impacted the high streets in different ways across the years.

The project embedded itself in both towns of Poole and Stoke on Trent, (in Stoke, the project venue was at the old Spode factory) and worked with diverse communities to create a large ensemble of ceramic sculptures in each place that explored and reflected different peoples connection to place and heritage.

Each body of sculpture was publicly exhibited in the place it was made before being swapped with the corresponding place. People in Stoke received a sculpture made by someone in Poole and visa versa.
