Piddock
Pencil on Paper
42cm x 42cm
A series of drawings made through the Covid 19 Lockdown in the UK, depicting stones marked by Piddocks, small, clam-like shellfish that burrow into soft rock. After settling as larvae, they begin tunneling, gradually enlarging and deepening their burrows as they grow. Once inside, they remain sealed within, living out their entire lives in these self-made chambers.
